Meeting held at Taffys Restaurant, 11:30am April 10th.

Present: Mike Korson (from TI) Woody Adams, Glenn Wells, Barry Hurley, Doug
Boone, Damon Oran, Andy Kowalewski

Apologies: Paul Olson

We welcomed Mike to his first ATE Conference Committee meeting, and explained to
him what our plans were and how we were going to achieve them. I think he was
suitably impressed.

>>>>Since the meeting - Mike has called me to confirm the he and Pete Profilet
will be doing a presentation themselves. That will be good for our marketing
also.

Technical issues:

Woody has made a tentative list of topics, and will confirm them tomorrow
(Tuesday) after some more work with Glenn:

Process and "Effective CAD Library Management" - Mike Korson and Pete Profilet
Interface Design
Socket and Adapter Concepts
PCB Materials, Properties and Selection
Special Fabrication Processes
Common Mistakes
Probe Card Design
Final test Design

Marketing issues:

It's urgent now to get our final brochure done. Andy spoke with Alphagraphics
who did our last brochure, and got a tentative price:
11 x 17 inch folded 80lb glossy paper, including artwork and printing $269.69.
Needs five day turnaround.

Keith and Andy are getting together Tuesday evening to finalise the brochure
details: Woody and Glenn have promised to provide final topics (if not the
actual speakers) and Damon has promised to provide the final list of sponsors.
That's really important now.

Damon is confidant that our sponsorships are in hand, and that's a relief.
Apparently Mentor/Veribest, Zuken, Cadence, Veehiry Circuits (spelling?) and
Frontline are all chaffing at the bit to be involved.

We have reduced our emphasis on tabletops - they may be more trouble than
they're worth, though my own feeling is that an exhibition of some sort should
be part of the conference.

Our sponsors will have a presentation table each.

Barry Hurley will be approaching DDI about sponsoring the open bar on Thursday
night - he will work with Damon on that issue.

Glenn is going to approach the eTeam people about a few extra perpetual licenses
for us to use as giveaways.

Venue issues:

Keynote speaker:
Pete Rogan of Cerprobe has declined to do the keynote speech.

Mike Korson will approach TI Fellow Mike Burns and Mark Midel (spelling?) about
doing the keynote speech. From what was said, either one would be emminently
suitable for the role. Mike will get in touch with Andy as soon as he can find
out, with a view perhaps of Andy following up with an official request. Andy
will email a list of (tentative) topics and known speakers to Mike Korson.

It was also suggested that we approach market research people like TechSearch
for speakers.

The local Congressman Sam Johnson will probably not be available.

Carl Johnson was mentioned, but no one knows much about him. (That's the note I
made, but I don't think that's right - I think it's more that he's not well
known to the industry.)

Dinner speaker:
I will introduce Doug, who will introduce Wallace to dinner guests.

Video:
Cerprobe will organise the making of the video, probably through a company
suggested by Doug. Woody will stay on top of that.

DJ and music:
Keith will organise the DJ to play music during our open bar session starting at
5pm Thursday and during dinner. He will also arrange for a cordless microphone
for our dinner speaker.

Registrations:
So far we have five confirmed registrants, with Cerprobe sending somewhere
between ten and twenty (paid) designers by Woody's estimate.

Mike Korson also said that he would probably have one or two going.

We have a telephone list to make calls this week - that should firm up some more
registrations.

Glenn and Woody will also make a list of people they know who are in the
business and should be called about the Conference.

Evaluation forms:
We should have these ready for suggestions from attendees and for speaker
evaluation. We may be doing this again next year !!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Something I forgot to mention:

Through pressure at work and home, Paul is resigning his position as Publicity
Officer. I wanted to say that I for one am sorry to see him go, as he was doing
a great job despite getting thrown very much into the deep end.

Cheers
